Canada is now able to offer single-event sports betting after the Senate successfully passed Bill C-218, without amendment. The Canadian Gaming Association celebrated this milestone as a major victory for the industry and provided statements of encouragement before beginning work with provincial partners on offering these types of wagers across Canada.

In an effort to legalize single-event sports betting, the Canadian Gaming Association has been working for more than 10 years and Bill C-218 was able to benefit from a groundswell of stakeholder support.

The passage is about the regulation of sports betting and how it is a way to help bring back gambling in Canada. The CGA has been working towards this for years, but due to COVID-19 shutdowns they were unable to get anything done until now.
